CHARITY WORK
Supreme Supports Others
At Supreme Creations we want to give back. Whilst through our sustainable and ethical manufacturing processes we give back to the people and the planet, we also aim to widen our social impact, which we do through our charity work. We work on a long-term basis with a charity called The Wings of Hope. We also work with small local charities who have donation requests which we review on a case by case basis. Previous organizations who have benefited are homeless charities, soup kitchens, local places of worship, charity raffles/ auctions for children.
Wings of Hope
Wings of Hope is a UK registered charity that believes in the transformative power of education for young people all over the world. The charity’s main program is based in the UK – called The Wings of Hope Achievement Award (WOHAA), in which UK students aged 13 – 18 years old can learn key transferable skills through experiences that develop their independence and sense of social responsibility. The WOHAA program is a 4-6-month program in which teams of young people work within their local communities to raise funds and awareness for global education needs of children – particularly in the Wings of Hope partner projects in India and Malawi.
- 70% of the students that take part are from state-school backgrounds;
- 66% of the students are girls,
- More than 50% of students from BAME backgrounds
- Over 15 years nearly 35,000 students from over 512 schools all over the UK have taken part and been positively affected by the charity
Life skills, independence, and mentoring
The students are given unique opportunities to attend skills workshops to help their teams to bond and execute their projects – from event management, marketing (digital and in the community), leadership, and managing money. Students are also given the opportunity to attend mentoring days, and speed mentoring events so that they can widen their horizons to job opportunities, universities, and apprenticeship opportunities.
In addition to this, the charity helps give opportunities to underprivileged children in India and Malawi, by providing them with a free education, evening schools tuition in slum projects, and educational centres to aid support of children who have been affected by HIV and AIDS.
How we help
At Supreme Creations we share the same passion as Wings of Hope for supporting young people, and are extremely grateful that we can help to have an impact on so many young people’s lives.
Mentoring
Various Supreme employees dedicate their own personal time towards mentoring students via Skype, face-to-face mentoring at our offices, and attend student events to support the WOHAA’s team efforts. The Supreme team receive regularly updates over the 4- 6 month period, and help students plan events, work through disappointments, and any team disagreements.
Event Management
Giving back is at the heart of the company, and all of our employees share this same passion to help others. Our employees help volunteer at all of the various WOHAA events such as; the House of Lords Semi Final presentations, finals at various venues in London.
Skills Workshops
We hold workshops at Supreme House on event management, marketing, presentation skills, CV and university application guidance. We have also hosted tours at other companies who Supreme Creations works with in fashion, design, marketing, property, finance, PR, and event management.
Through these connections many students have gone on to receive workshops, work placements, and careers advice.
Extending the corporate network
At Supreme we also use our corporate network to help further benefit Wings of Hope. All clients of Supreme are encouraged to donate to Wings of Hope via their order form, and some Supreme clients ask to promote WOHAA through a leaflet in their bags, which Supreme produces free of cost for the charity. The charity has made connections with Supreme clients such as Co-Op, Saatchi & Saatchi, John Lewis and Portico. We have also connected clients such as British Fashion Council, Topshop, River Island and Nike with the charity to be mentors for the young people which it supports.
Co-working space
Supreme Creations also share office space with volunteers and team members of the charity, which allows us to help and support with things like training on database management, pitching, presentations, IT support, infrastructure, shared lunches, and team events. We also subsidize administrative support, e.g.: IT, telecommunications, accounts and finance support, print management, data protection, data entry, internet, postage and courier, etc. We also have a secure area reserved in our storage unit for the charity to use for project archives, and physical donations.
Donations of product and Charity discount
For all WOHAA events Supreme Creations donates some of our eco-friendly and ethically made totes to use as goodie bags, and all packaging is done by our warehouse team. We also manufacture fabric banners for students to use as part of their fundraising, as well as any merchandise requirements for the team (hoodies, t-shirts, sweatshirts, marketing banners, wristbands).
Marketing and design
Our in-house design studio provides support on all printed and digital marketing material for the charity – right from event banners on the website, to leaflets for events, and forms for students at assemblies. We produce all 2-D mockups for the charity as external design agency fees can be really expensive!
Social media and website
Our in-house web development team update the Wings of Hope website, from banners to blog posts, to newsletter updates. We also support the social media efforts of the charity on all the initiatives from LinkedIn to Instagram and Facebook with our in-house social media specialist.
Delivery services
If the charity needs deliveries made to-and-from schools and other event venues of large items we organise this via our courier, parcel, and van services.
